He was a freemason.
He later worked for Post Office (?) and last worked for Giddy & Giddy, Estate Agents
d. 9th June 1907 age 67.
Interred in Forest Hill Cemetery, Grave #20546 Space 46
4 sons, 1 daughter (Rose (?) d. infant)

Susan Caroline Stokes

Susan Caroline Stokesb. 1861
m. James William Baker around 1882
She was the daughter of John Stokes who was a carpenter by trade, originally from Roxwell, Essex.
Also known as "Little Dearma" to some of her grandchildren
A nephew, Philip J Stokes lost his life in sinking of Titanic, April 1912
d. 1938

Married - Florence Rose Beavan (1882 - 1931)
He worked for Rolls Royce (Derby)
He later owned a garage in South London & conducted the pit orchestra at Camberwell Empire (?)
2 sons, 1 daughter: Ronald b ~1922 (Burma Railroad WW2), Raymond, Herminal (1911-1997)
d. 1937 - result of WW1 injuries (?)
Interred Camberwell New Cemetery

Visited UK twice in 1950's and had severe back problems at the time

Laurence Ingram Baker

Laurence Ingram Bakerb. 8 July 1894
After the death of his father, he moved to Midlands and lived with Hartley
He attended Market Bosworth Grammar School
Company Accountant
He worked for a time at General Electric Company, UK
From mid-1930's, he was accountant at C.H. Slaughter & Co, Timber Importers. Retired ~ 1964
He was also a director of subsidiary company Shaftesbury Ladders Ltd in East London.

Lived in East Dulwich up to 1931, then 1 Wood Ride, Petts Wood, Kent until 1961, The Meads, Haywards Heath, Sussex to 1970 and Letheringsett & Palgrave, Diss, Norfolk to 1978.

Leo Henry Baker

Leo Henry Bakerb. ~ 1897
He attended Royal Masonic School in Bushey, Hertfordshire (closed 1977)
m. May Terry (brother of Frank Terry)
One daughter, Brenda who married Brian Spencer (late-1950's)
A serious leg injury was incurred during WW1.
After lengthy rehabilitation, he worked as telephonist in the Houses of Parliament (mid-1920s to 1932)
He was Chief Telephonist for the Royal Household 1932 to c.1962, serving under four monarchs.
He travelled on the Royal Tour of South Africa in 1947.
Residence 24 St Mark's Rd, Windsor, with rooms in all Royal residences.
